Class times: All classes are held on Saturdays from 9am-4:30pm. We encourage you to sign up one week in advance so we can mail you the participant guide, however we can accommodate you if you sign up within a week by providing a pdf of the guide. You will be automatically registered for the next class. If the date and time scheduled does not work for you, please contact us at as soon as possible to reschedule to the desired date.

Please make sure your court/insurance company allows for a live National safety council course. Participant guide and certificates for a live class will be mailed from our Kirkland, WA main office so be sure to sign up at least a week in advance so there is time to mail you the participant guide.

California DMV Approved Drivers Ed Course

Obtaining the privilege to drive in California requires completing a few short steps. The first step is completing the Low Cost Drivers Education Course. Once this California DMV approved course is complete, your teen will be eligible to take the DMV written test. Proof of completion is a requirement, and will provide the proof your teen needs once the course is complete. When your teen passes the written test, your teen will receive a driving permit. Your teen will need to complete at least 1 lesson with an approved driving school in order to activate the permit. How To Complete the Drivers Education Requirement in Fort Bragg

Fulfilling your CA DMV requirements in Mendocino County doesn’t have to complicated and confusing. With our online Drivers Ed Course, the process is quite simple really. All you need to do in order to earn a learners permit is the following:

  • Sign up for our Low Cost program online
  • Complete the entire program online, including out multiple choice final exam
  • Walk in to the Fort Bragg DMV and take a written permit test
  • If you successfully pass your exam, you will earn your learner's permit.
  • A DMV clerk will take your photo for your eventual license and send you on your way.

Who Qualifies for Drivers Education in Mendocino County?

Who is eligible to take drivers education in Northern California? Any teen who will soon be turning fifteen-and-a-half and has the desire to earn a provisional permit. Our CA DMV approved course is a 30-hour equivalent course, so you will want to allow yourself plenty of time to complete it before you turn 15½. Our Low Cost course is available to all teens, whether they attend Fort Bragg High School or are a home school student.

Low Cost Drivers Ed is the online solution for teens who are seeking a way to complete the requirement, but not have to attend a classroom course. A teen who attends Fort Bragg High School or lives in Fort Bragg is eligible to take our course. If parents are worried that a teacher will not be in attendance during the online experience, parents or teens can call the customer service center when they need help.
